| Business Description | Purpose |
- The Korean Institute of Female Architects(KIFA), established in 1982, was founded to create a platform for women architects to showcase their creativity and skills, strengthen the capacity and empowerment of its members, and contribute to the advancement of national architectural culture.
- For the past 42 years, KIFA has contributed to the advance- ment of Korean architecture through diverse activities, including project exhibitions, academic papers, research, symposiums, international exchanges, community service, and the promotion of architectural culture through public education." - Significant changes are anticipated in the architecture industry due to shifting demographics in the architectural workforce and among architecture students, with a rapidly increasing proportion of women. However, the representation of women in architectural technology and engineering remains relatively low. - Gender issues in South Korea remain unresolved (the country ranks 105th on the World Economic Forum's Gender Equality Index), and there is a growing social demand to support women in balancing childcare and career. - The leadership of professional organizations for women architects is essential for fostering an inclusive and diverse society. Accordingly, our association will celebrate its 43rd anniversary in May 2025 and, through the '2025 Women Architects' exhibition, will highlight the contributions of women architects from past, present, and future generations, creating a space for intergenerational exchange and engagement with the public. |
